For 107 years, the New York Junior League has been a positive force for change in New York City. The NYJL's 3,000 trained volunteers support our 34 community service programs which address some of New York City's most critical issues: domestic violence awareness and prevention, health education to the at-risk community, life skills for families in transition, and cultural enrichment for children and seniors.

Playground Improvement Project Overview
The Playground Improvement Project is a New York Junior League signature community project. Since 1992, the New York Junior League (NYJL) has revitalized and beautified neglected playgrounds and parks in many neighborhoods of New York City (for past projects, click here). In its 17th year, the mission continues as we partner with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to restore J.J. Walker Park and Tony Dapolito Community Center located in Greenwich Village . To learn more about the 2008 project, click here.
